- US Airways: New Service US Airways on June 15 adds a daily nonstop flight between Washington National and Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, MA. Also: A third daily flight between Washington and Knoxville, TN; Portland, ME; and New Haven, CT. (1)

- Continental: Southward Continental's 26th Latin America route will be daily nonstop flights between Caracas, Venezuela, and Houston, beginning Dec.18. Flights between Newark and Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, start in July (1).
