B5N1(Kate)Nakajima Type97 Mark1 Carrier-born Torpedo Bomber

: In 1935 IJN ordered competition production,10th experimental torpedo bomber ,to Mithubishi and Nakajima aircraft. At last Nakajima aircraft won the competition and start development . At first "sakae"engine was scheduled to install but it's development delaied so "hikari"engine was installed. However, it showed highly efficient that IJN expected. (Kate) mark1 was adopted official Des.1937 as B5N1.
Immediately it sent in China and did ground bombing. This picture is the appearance in the time ,applied a paint of silver color to whole of it's body. The tail was painted with red.

: 1938 in battle of china, IJN test aircaft camouflage. One of them are like below. It is a dark green and brown cloud like one.
"hikari"engine is rarger than "sakae"engine, so "kuunana shiki ichigoh kankoh" has a fat cowling.

Kate mark-1 turned into be old fashioned when it becomes 1943. Therefore it was used as a practice airplane. This photograph is a practice of submarine scout.
