B5N2(Kate)Nakajima Type97 Mark3 Carrier-born Torpedo Bomber

Nakajima aircraft exchanged (Kate mark1)'s engine to "sakae" -11. And in December 1939 (Kate) mark-3 named B5N2 and adopted official. Going up 300 hp performances up. As for a new engine a diameter is small so side view became smart.

This photograph is famous pearl harbor attack of (Kate) mark3. The top face is deep green and brown. This plane is from a carrier "zuikaku".

This is from aircraft carrier "shohkaku" at pearl harbor. A camouflage was not unified in that time. "kyuunana sangoh kankoh" accomplish most of an enemy ship attack of Japanese forces after that.

When 1943 new torpedo bomber "tenzan"finished kate-3 was used for scout,communication,practice etc.. 1944 many kate-3 equipped rader. This is a radio wave rader H-6. Especially took an active part to the submarine reconnaissance. This is a magnetic radar. A bomb is dropped automatically when it hits in the up in the air of a submarine under the water.
